Pin the decision, not the whole thread.
Select + Pin a comment in the issue's Pinned comments box, pick the comment and add a short note. It stays at the top, however long the thread gets.
- Up to 5 pins per issue (admins choose 1–10)
- A note of up to 140 characters on each
- Also in the issue's ••• menu
One click back to where it was decided.
Jump to comment scrolls the thread to the original comment and highlights it, so you can read what was said around it.
- Always the comment's current text
- Restricted comments stay hidden from people outside the group
- Delete a comment and its pin goes too
A decision log for every project.
Open Pinned in the project sidebar to see every pinned comment, newest first and grouped by issue. There's no search to write.
- Also one click from any issue's Pinned box
- People only see what they're allowed to see
- Power users can still filter with JQL
The problem
Decisions, workarounds and customer details get buried in long comment threads, and Jira Cloud has no way to pin them. Pinly keeps the few comments everyone needs in a box at the top of the issue.
What it does
Pin up to 5 comments per issue
Admins can set the limit anywhere from 1 to 10.
A short note on every pin
Say why it matters in up to 140 characters.
Respects comment visibility
People only see pinned comments they are already allowed to see.
Choose who can pin
Anyone who can comment, or project admins only. Set per project.
Every decision in one place
A Pinned page in each project lists all pinned comments, newest first.
Cleans up after itself
Delete a comment and its pin disappears.
